Vivid Solutions began in 2003 as the NZ TelePaediatric Service based at Auckland’s Starship Hospital. For the first time ever, it enabled paediatricians to conduct face-to-face video conference consultation with their young patients throughout New Zealand, irrespective of their location.
The telehealth model revolutionised how medical appointments could be accessed allowing multiple clinical providers to collaborate remotely in real-time for the benefit of a child’s healthcare needs. Consultants and their patients no longer needed to travel, sometimes long distances, to medical appointments.
Over the next 5 years, the service became so successful that it was in high demand from clinical specialists, District Health Boards and the Ministry of Health nationwide.
The NZ TelePaediatric Service was renamed Vivid Solutions in 2008 and has developed into the largest private, New Zealand-owned, video conferencing network in Australasia. Today all 20 District Health Boards (from Kaitaia to Invercargill) use our services, as do correctional facilities, social support groups and not-for-profit organisations.
Our state-of-the-art technology and comprehensive support services allow people to make quicker decisions, save time and money on travel, and reduce their carbon footprint.
